This modern shaped self-contained china toilet emulates the European wall-hung toilets that are so popular as of late. The Sanistar can be used with a hand basin only. The wastewater of a hand basin drains into the toilet motor and after a certain amount of water has entered, the motor will start and pump away the wastewater. At the same time it will also partially empty the bowl, which after the motor stops, will be refilled with clean water.
The Sanistar saves space and can be hung on any sturdy wall. It comes complete with a wall bracket system that can be placed against a wall or if you start from scratch-it can be built into the wall and mounted against 2 x 6 studs. The wall bracket has feet that can be adjusted to allow the Sanistar to be hung at a height that is comfortable for the user user, for example between 15 and 18 inches. The Sanistar uses a minimum amount of water. The flushing mechanism is electrically timed to allow approximately 4 liters (1.1 USG) of water to pass through the toilet.
The Sanistar has no external water tank as the flushing mechanism is built in and is totally electric. After use, one presses a pneumatic button on top of the bowl, this activates a timer and a solenoid valve in order to fill and wash the sides of the bowl. The motor starts and the waste and paper are sucked inside, where it is macerated and pumped away. The motor stops after approximately 15 seconds and the timer programs the refill of the bowl with fresh water.
The discharge pipe of the Sanistar is 1 inch in diameter; the pump operates at 7 PSI and pumps the effluent upwards to 9 feet and/or 100 feet horizontally. The discharge pipe-work may be made with either copper or solvent welded plastic material, provided that a consistent gravity fall is maintained throughout the run. The Sanistar also allows for a hand basin hookup.
At the soil-stack end of the pipe run the small-bore pipe-work must be connected to the waste by means of an appropriate TY fitting. Electrical supply to the Sanistar is 120V, 15 Amp. The system should be connected to a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter circuit. |
